Dr. Anjane'yulu' Krothapalli, Don Fuqua Eminent Scholar Professor of Mechanical Engineering has been on the faculty at the Florida State University since 1983, and has served as Professor since 1987. He has served as Chairman of the Mechanical Engineering department from 1987 to 2002. From 1981 to1983, he was on the faculty at Stanford University, as an acting assistant professor. During the period from 1979 to 1980, he was on the faculty at University of Oklahoma, as an assistant professor. He received a NASA Certificate of recognition in 1987 and ONR Career Transition Award (CTAP) in 1999. He has published over 175 papers and has supervised approximately 25 graduate students and postdoctoral associates. He has one patent (2005) and 4 others in review.

His research interests include high speed jet noise suppression, pulsed jet thrust augmenting ejectors for VTOL (vertical take-off and landing) aircraft and small scale (~5 kW) sustainable energy systems with emphasis on solar thermal cogeneration systems (electricity+refrigeration/air-conditioning+hot water) using concentrating solar radiation, PEM fuel cells, particularly, the design and development of low cost bipolar plates and electrolytic hydrogen production with emphasis on low cost durable electrode designs.
